Heidi Redmond Raines is the CEO and founder of Medical Executive Partners and Compliance Partners. Raines’ work experience has spanned a number of healthcare sectors, including hospitals, private and public healthcare centers, and pharmaceuticals, which gives her a broad perspective when servicing clients.

There is no ‘playbook’ on how to innovate health care. But Raines and her associates have not been afraid to tackle challenges, such as forging public-private partnerships for more efficient health care delivery, developing medical centers in underserved markets, creating clinical research organizations that allow for innovate treatment options, and turning start-ups into operating companies that have built platforms for expansion and attracted national investors. In 2013, she founded a new venture in health care consulting: Compliance Partners. Raines and her team have become increasingly involved in helping clients develop and implement comprehensive compliance programs.

Prior to establishing Medical Executive Partners, Heidi was the CEO at Michalopoulos Enterprises. At Michalopoulos, Heidi provided overall risk management, financial resource coordination, new product implementation and internal controls for each company, while providing positive operational improvement and financial growth. While Heidi served as CEO, New Orleans City Business awarded its Innovator of The Year Award for the successful reinvention of the company.

At the North American operations of AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Raines managed the entire life cycle of strategic projects; creating, developing and implementing centers for clinical trials, accomplishing AstraZeneca’s Circle of Excellence award, reserved for the top 5% of the company’s specialists. Raines also managed two sections of the LSU Health Sciences Center, Hematology/ Oncology and Radiation Oncology, including clinical research and private clinics. She increased the sections’ profitability by 152% during her tenure.

In 2013, Raines was named Woman of the Year by New Orleans City Business for her contributions to the healthcare and biomedicine field. In 2014, Raines was invited to become a member of the Women Healthcare Executive Network (WHEN). The invitation-only membership group meets regularly to discuss relevant current events and collaborate on healthcare challenges.

Raines currently holds a Preceptor Faculty position at Tulane University’s Master of Health Administration program. She also holds a Certificate of Entrepreneurship from Goldman Sachs’ Business Program. As part of the program, the CEO enters an extensive training program created by Babson, Wharton, and Oxford Universities. Medical Executive Partners is Small Entrepreneurship Certified by Louisiana Economic Development, the state’s flagship business development agency.
